Kalara Vusoniwailala

FOUNDING DIRECTOR & SHAREHOLDER

A familiar face to Fijians nationwide, Kalara Vusoniwailala has been on our television screens since TV started and is the founder of Fiji’s first full-service advertising agency, owned and led by an iTaukei, AdTime (1998).

Celebrated for her innovative thinking, intuitive sales instinct and infectious laugh, Kalara is one of Fiji’s original marketing gurus. From launching her first venture at 8 years old, to pioneering her trademark Mango Cafe in 2004 (Suva’s first destination-driven restaurant), she is no stranger to building something from nothing.

Kalara’s unique ability to connect with people and develop creative solutions has enabled her to drive growth and increase market share for many of Fiji’s well-known brands today. Instrumental in shaping iconic brands like Courts, Western Union, RB Patel, Tappoo, Kasabias and many others, Kalara was also the brains behind ground-breaking initiatives like the Housing Authority Privatization in 2001 and ExxonMobil's "I Love Fiji" geurilla marketing campaign in 2003, which stole market share from Shell’s sponsorship of the South Pacific Games.

Marketing Works Fiji is Kalara’s venture to offer true integrity behind the science of marketing.

To be what you say and say what you are.

“I had lost hope in marketing, because it had become just about money and selling.  My faith in marketing has since been restored, by focusing on market relevance.  To help clients achieve and maintain this, you need to be asking the right questions, talking to the right people and redefining and repositioning your products and services that closes market gaps.  Only then, can Marketing work.

So that’s our promise.  Marketing Works.”
